KARACHI: The widow of the Quaid-i-Millat, Begum Liaquat Ali Khan, has been allotted an official bungalow in Bath Island in Karachi, it is learned. Begum Liaquat Ali Khan is expected to shift to her new residence with her two sons within the next few days.

Meanwhile, a reliable source said in Karachi on Sunday [Oct 21] that the departed leader did not leave behind him many worldly belongings. He recalled the statement made by the Quaid-i-Millat in his last public speech in Karachi on the occasion of the death anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam, in which he had said that his worldly belongings were negligible. All that he had was his life, which he had dedicated to Pakistan. The belongings left by the departed leader, the source said, included a small bank balance, a number of cigarette lighters, a few rings, and a few cameras.

[As reported by news agencies from Karachi,] the new Prime Minister … Khwaja Nazimuddin has called a conference of the Chief Ministers of the provinces… . The conference … would generally discuss the situation arising out of the tragic and sudden demise of the Quaid-i-Millat.
