MANSEHRA: A teenage girl student of a seminary was shot dead here on Tuesday, police said.

They said that she was going home, along with other students, from a seminary in the Lambi Dehri area when a man opened fire on her, leaving her seriously injured.

The girl, 19, was rushed to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The body was handed over to her family after doctors carried out the medico-legal formalities.

Maulana Saeed, the girl’s father, lodged an FIR with the police, stating that the incident occurred when his daughter reached the street of her house, along with her class fellows.

“Class fellows of my daughter witnessed the incident. They can also identify the accused, who managed to flee the crime scene,” he said.

Mr Saeed said that his family had no enmity with anyone in the area.
