LAHORE: The World Heart Day was observed at a special ceremony held at the Shalamar Hospital on Tuesday with the aim to raise public awareness about heart and blood vessel-related diseases and to highlight the importance of preventive measures.
According to the World Heart Federation, the 2026 campaign “Don’t Miss a Beat” emphasises overlooked symptoms of heart disease and getting timely medical check-ups.
On this occasion, a heart failure clinic was also inaugurated under the supervision of the Rasheeda Begum Cardiac Centre. Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) Chairman Shahid Hussain inaugurated the clinic.
The event was attended by Shalamar Medical and Dental College Principal Prof Zahid Bashir, Chief Operating Officer Dr Ayesha Noman and senior doctors.
