Stray dogs bite two minors, cause bike crash

BAHAWALNAGAR: Two children were hospitalised after being bitten by stray dogs, while three youths were injured after falling from a moving motorcycle when it hit a pack of dogs suddenly coming on a road, in separate incidents in the city on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122, two minor children, identified as Adnan (6) of Madni Colony, and Abdul Wahab of Muhajir Colony, were bitten by stray dogs, when they were playing outside their homes, in separate incidents.

They were taken to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital for treatment and vaccination.

Meanwhile, three youngsters were injured after falling from a speeding motorcycle, allegedly when a pack of stray dogs suddenly came in front of their bike on Jalwala Road.

Rescue 1122 officials say that the injured youths were identified as Allah Rakha, Ahmad Hasan, and Ali, who suffered head injuries in the accident and were shifted to the DHQ hospital for treatment.

Locals expressed their concern over packs of stray dogs roaming on the city roads and in streets, posing serious risk to people, especially children and motorcyclists.

They urged the municipal committee and administration to take immediate and concrete measures to check the menace.
