RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police have taken strict action against illegal and unregistered driving schools in Rawalpindi, issuing notices for their immediate closure. The CTP has warned that strict legal action will be taken if unregistered and illegal driving schools are not closed despite prior warning notices, a police spokesman said.
In this regard, Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam said most deaths on the roads are due to carelessness and ignorance of traffic rules. The risk of accidents increases due to a lack of proper training in substandard driving schools.
CTO added that in such schools, complete training on traffic rules and road safety is not provided, nor is awareness raised about a vehicle’s mechanical system and safe driving. Therefore, legal notices have been issued to all such substandard, unregistered schools to protect human lives from road accidents.
He further said that the traffic police’s focus is on traffic education, road safety, accident control, and efficient traffic flow.
Meanwhile, the police have solved the mystery of the murder of a man whose body was found stuffed in a sack in the Naseerabad area and have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder, who were close friends of the victim, police said.
A police spokesman said that Naseerabad police have made significant progress in the investigation of the blind murder, as a body was found stuffed in a sack six days ago, and three accused were arrested.
He said that the accused turned out to be friends of the victim, who killed the victim, Kamran, due to a personal grudge and greed. The accused invited the victim to his house, allegedly tied his hands and feet, strangled him, and threw the body on a deserted road.
The Naseerabad police registered a case and investigated the accused using modern methods of investigation. When the accused was questioned about the murder, they confessed to killing him.
SP Potohar Chaudhry Azar Ali said that the accused will be challaned in court with solid evidence.
