If you and your sibling are fighting over which movie to watch, settle down and watch Clash of the Thundermans. The Nickelodeon film brings the superhero Thunderman family back for a brand-new adventure. Funny, relatable and surprisingly unpredictable, it is a wild ride that proves no family is perfect — not even a super-powered one.
The original Nickelodeon series ran from 2013 to 2018. The superhero family returned with The Thundermans Return in 2024 and the spin-off The Thundermans: Undercover in 2025, but Clash of the Thundermans is better than either.
The Thundermans may look like an ordinary family, but they are anything but ordinary! Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) has telekinesis and heat vision, while her twin brother Max (Jack Griffo) has the same powers, but often uses them in more mischievous ways. Youngest sibling Chloe (Maya Le Clark) can teleport, Billy (Diego Velazquez) has super-speed and Nora (Addison Riecke) has powerful heat vision.
Their dad, Hank (Chris Tallman), has super-strength and can fly, while their mum, Barb (Rosa Blasi), can control electricity and generate powerful energy blasts. Then there’s Dr Colosso (Dana Snyder), the family’s mischievous superpowered rabbit who can transform into a human! Together, their different powers make the Thundermans a seriously super, and seriously chaotic, family.
The story centres on Chloe, the youngest member of the family, who discovers a new and unpredictable superpower. Of course, having a new power sounds exciting, but learning to control it is a completely different challenge! As Chloe tries to understand her new ability, the rest of the Thunderman family gets involved, as any family would.
The action scenes are a fun throwback to the 1990s and early 2000s, when superhero movies often relied on practical stunts and physical comedy. Beneath all the jokes and superhero action, the movie also carries an important message. It reminds us of the value of family, teamwork, trust and acceptance. Chloe’s journey shows that having a special ability is not enough — you also need patience, courage and the support of those who care about you.
Directed by Trevor Kirschner and written by Jed Spingarn, Sean W. Cunningham and Marc Dworkin, the 90-minute live-action film blends action, comedy, family drama and superhero fun. If you enjoy movies with comedy, action and a touch of superhero chaos, this one is definitely worth checking out.
