ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will establish an Artificial Intelligence wing and transition to a fully digital office system by the end of December, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja announced on Monday.

Presiding over a meeting, Mr Raja was briefed on the commission’s Digital Office, or E-Office, the use of Artificial Intelligence, and the launch of a new website. The CEC directed the formation of an AI wing to provide technical support to various departments of the commission.

“The aim is to bring innovation to our capacity and ensure smooth handling of day-to-day official matters,” he was quoted as saying.
