RAWALPINDI: A teenage girl selling flowers and toys in a market at Chaklala III was allegedly raped by a rickshaw driver near a graveyard, police said on Sunday.
The father of the victim told the police that his 13-year-old daughter was returning home at around 10pm when a young man, who drives a rickshaw, offered her a lift. The complainant alleged that the rickshaw driver drove his daughter to a graveyard’s ground and sexually assaulted her. He threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed it to anybody.
The girl narrated her ordeal to her cousin the following morning and the latter informed the father about the incident.
The police sent the victim to Benazir Bhutto Hospital for a medical examination and later registered an FIR. The suspect is yet to be arrested.
