BAHAWALPUR: Four persons allegedly shot dead a cattle-trader at Mauza Wadani in the limits of the Musafirkhana police station in the district.

According to police, the killers have been identified as Mohin Shehzad and Muhammad Suleman, two brothers and business rivals of slain Muhammad Irfan Dadpotra, along with two unidentified killers who allegedly shot him dead Potra while he was on his way home on Friday night. Police registered a murder case and formed teams to arrest the killers.

DROWNS: A two-year old infant Arsalan drowned in Chahar canal near Head Lodhran on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122, children were playing near canal bank and one of them slipped into the water channel.

On reaching bank canal, the 1122 launched the search operation with three divers, as many swimmers, a rescue boat and four rescue vehicles. After over six hours’ search operation, the rescuers claimed to have traced the body about 12 km off the place of drowning and was retrieved from canal.
