When asked if the business parties would be displaying their sign boards at respective areas developed, the officer said, “No ! The beauty and upkeep of areas appealing to road users would itself serve as advertisement of the outlet and the project would not stop short at just planting trees, rather they will be responsible for safeguarding and development of green area.

The officer said that the Chief Minister Punjab ,by introducing beautification of commercial areas in towns and Suthra Punjab has given initiatives for developing better civic standards and such goal can only be achieved through active participation of the public to keep roads and streets clean like well-kept homes.

Mr Goraya said that during the current spell of rainy season the work on tree plantation at N-5 would be started. He added , “ it will serve as a sustainable model of maintaining road medians along GT road of Gujarkhan giving a sense of serenity and clealiness to the road users.

The cleanliness and beautification cannot be sustained without community participation. Tehsil administration has joined hand with the business community to develop road medians with joint efforts”.
