TOBA TEK SINGH: Two suspects were killed in separate alleged encounters in different areas of Faisalabad.
In one incident, police claimed that Crime Control Department (CCD) Lyallpur Division In-charge Inspector Hassan Siddique Cheema and Iqbal Division In-charge Sub-Inspector Ali Ikram Goraiya along with their teams raided Chak Achkira in Faisalabad on Thursday night to arrest proclaimed offenders.
Police claimed the suspects opened fire on the team and after half an hour of cross-firing, the CCD team arrested one suspect in injured condition. Police claimed that he was injured by the firing of his three accomplices, who fled the scene. He was shifted to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries, police claimed.
Police identified the deceased suspect as Tayyab Munir of Chak 253 RB Jahangir Kalan, who had a record of 20 serious cases and was also wanted for killing a citizen during a robbery.
In another incident in the Rodala Police area of Faisalabad, police claimed that three suspicious motorcycle riders were signalled to stop at a picket near Chak 376 GB. Instead, police claimed that they started firing at the police party. After an exchange of fire, police arrested one suspect in injured condition, who received bullets fired by his accomplices who had escaped.
Police claimed that he was shifted to the hospital but he could not survive.
The deceased was identified as Imdad of Nankana Sahib, who had a record of two dozen cases of robbery in Faisalabad and Nankana Sahib districts.
