TAXILA: Police have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case for nearly two decades during an intelligence-based operation in Wah Cantonment, officials said Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect had been declared a proclaimed offender after allegedly absconding following his nomination in a murder case around 20 years ago.

Police said the suspect remained in hiding in Karachi after leaving Wah Cantonment and was traced through human intelligence. He was arrested during a targeted operation and has been taken into custody.

Officials said the suspect will be produced before the relevant court in accordance with legal procedure, while further investigation into the case is underway.
