Women’s U-21 hockey starts on Thursday

LAHORE: The Prime Minister National Women’s Under-21 Hockey Championship will be held at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad from July 2 to 9.

The schedule and match timings will be announced later in view of the prevailing heatwave and harsh weather conditions.

The tournament will open on July 2 with Mardan taking on Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Gilgit-Baltistan will then face Star Women Academy-B, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-A against Sindh-B, while Punjab-B will meet

Star Women Academy-A in the day’s fourth match.

The pool stage will continue until July 6, with the semi-finals scheduled for July 8. The final and the third-place playoff will be played on July 9.

The 13 participating teams have been divided into four pools
