SARGODHA: The police have booked a youth and his accomplice for allegedly raping an orphaned boy at gunpoint and recording a video of the heinous crime in Bhakkar.
According to the FIR, K, a youth from Chandani Chowk area of Bhakkar, and his accomplice S, lured an eighth class student ‘H’, an orphan, to a hut, where the former raped the boy at gunpoint.
The suspect also recorded a video of the episode and threatened to kill the victim if he told anyone about the incident. However, the victim informed his uncle Zaman about the incident, who reported the matter to the Chandani Chowk police.
Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 376iii/292 of the PPC and launched investigation into the matter.
FIVE BOOKED: Jhal Chakian police have booked five persons for allegedly killing a young man over old enmity at Chak 74 NB.
According to the FIR, armed men, including Ikram, Hasnain, Mushtaq and their two unidentified accomplices shot dead a young man, Mudassar Haider, over old enmity and fled away.
The body was shifted to hospital for the postmortem examination.
The police are investigating into the matter.
FIRE: A fire braking out in a house in Sargodha city due to an electric short circuit in a UPS gutted the household items.According to sources, the family members were not in their house in Bismillah Homes in Sargodha city when a fire broke out due to a UPS short circuit, reducing the household items to ashes.
A Rescue 1122 firefighting team controlled the blaze.
EIGHT INJURED: At least eight persons were injured in a collision between two trucks on Sargodha-Jhang road.
According to police sources, a Mazda truck going from Bhakkar to Sargodha collided with another truck going from Faisalabad to Mianwali at Dadan Chowk on Sargodha-Jhang road. As a result, eight persons, were injured, who were shifted to hospital.
Police reached the spot and started investigation.
BISE BUDGET: Sargodha Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) approved a Rs2922.7 million surplus budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027.
The BISE earmarked Rs2,322m for expenses, Rs784m for administrative expense, Rs797m for operating expense, Rs39m for advance grants to families of employees, Rs12m for stipends/medals to students, Rs1.9m for entertainment, Rs1.96m for loan advances to board employees and Rs36m for the purchase of computer hardware and other IT equipment.
The BISE also approved Rs472m to conduct matriculation and intermediate exams, Rs0.8m for unforeseen expenses,Rs200m for store purchase and Rs7.1m for other expense, Rs280m for pension contribution and security benefits and Rs2.7m for employees hired on deputation.
An amount of Rs15.136m was earmarked for office renovation, Rs6.267m for staff residences, Rs6m for miscellaneous building repairs and Rs65.7m and Rs153.17m for ongoing construction and new buildings, respectively.
