US Central Command (Centcom) says that due to the naval blockade on Iranian ports, 73 oil tankers are unable to enter or leave Iranian ports.
In a post on X, it adds, “These commercial ships have the capacity to transport over 166 million barrels of Iranian oil worth an estimated $13 billion-plus.”
According to the post, Centcom highlights that the blockade remains “fully in effect”, enforced by over 15,000 troops, over 200 aircraft and more than 20 warships.
It adds that 50 vessels have been redirected since the start of the blockade.
