Mikaeel, Abubkar advance into semis

ISLAMABAD: Mikaeel Ali Baig and Abubakar Talha advanced to the semi-finals of the Treet ITF Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial Junior Tennis Championship (J-60, Leg-3) here at the Pakistan Tennis Federation Complex on Wednesday.

Mikael received a walkover against Jayden Park of Hong Kong. Abubakar defeated Artem Bukin 6-3, 2-1 after the Russian player conceded the match due to cramps.

An all-Pakistan last-four lineup was denied as Ahtesham Humayun and Hamza Roman lost their ties in straight sets against foreign players.

Ahtesham lost his quarter-final clash against Singapore’s Luke Jie Xi Ho 6-2, 6-4 while Hamza was ousted by Ganuka Fernando of Sri Lanka 6-4, 6-2.
