SUKKUR: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has rejected rumours of differences among different political parties over Pakistan’s policy and decisions vis-à-vis US-Israel war against Iran.

Speaking to the media in Jacobabad on Tuesday after condoling the death of veteran politician and former lawmaker Mir Babul Khan Jakhrani with the bereaved family, Ayaz Sadiq said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif were being consulted and they had been on board on all policy decisions. “No ‘minus formula’ is there,” he said apparently alluding to some posts circulating on certain social media platforms. He said that he had received a call from President Zardari, who expressed his pride over the role being played by Pakistan in the mediation efforts underway to ensure lasting peace in the region. “Being the head of state, President Zardari always remains on board while any decision is taken,” he said.

He pointed out that the role being played by the government of Pakistan — under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif — and the armed forces — under the command of Field Marshal Asim Munir — was being globally acclaimed.

Earlier, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Balochistan Minister Mohammad Saleem Khoso, Asim Kurd and several other political figures visited Jakhrani House on Tuesday to offer their condolences to MNA Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Mir Khalid Khan Jakhrani, MPA Mir Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani and other family members on the death of Mir Babul Khan Jakhrani.
