The IRGC has denied responsibility for a drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh on March 3, claiming it was carried out by Israel, Al Jazeera reports.

The statement comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that the Iranian attack was more damaging than Saudi authorities acknowledged.

The IRGC condemned the WSJ report and claimed the attack “has absolutely nothing to do with the Iranian armed forces” and given the Israeli strategy in the region, it was “certainly carried out by Zionists”.

The statement went on to warn Muslim countries of the “Zionist regime’s sedition in the region” and said it was essential that its neighbours remain “vigilant against the American-Zionist movement’s seditious intent to destabilise and destroy the region”.
