Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei says the US was drawn into the Middle East conflict due to a miscalculation and provocation by Israel, Al Jazeera reports citing Iran’s state-owned IRNA news agency.

“No one in the world can trust American diplomacy anymore. They use diplomacy and negotiations only as a prelude to imposing their demands or using force,” he has said.

Baghaei also claims that Iran’s new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is in perfect health and that he has not appeared in public due to the ongoing war.

He adds that the Iranian public is not ready to talk about negotiations or diplomacy with the US, which used previous negotiations as a prelude to imposing its demands and using force.
