QUETTA / GWADAR: Security forces have killed two alleged terrorists in an operation conducted following an intelligence report about the presence of wanted suspects in the Duki area, police said on Saturday.

Officials stated that the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) and police, after receiving information about the presence of wanted terrorists, conducted a combing operation in the Killi Bakhtairabad area of Duki.

The forces cordoned off the area, upon which the armed men hiding there opened fire on them. The police and ATF personnel jointly fired back in retaliation.

A heavy exchange of fire ensued between the suspected terrorists and the forces. Two terrorists were killed in this gun battle. They were wanted by the security forces in connection with various terrorist attacks.

Bullet-riddled body of man found in Turbat

“Two terrorists were killed in the operation. They were involved in the killing of five Frontier Corps personnel two weeks ago, when they blew up their vehicle in the Duki area while returning to Loralai after destroying poppy fields alongside ANF [Anti-Narcotics Force] and other forces,” Loralai DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh said.

He added that one ATF personnel was injured during the exchange of fire. The bodies were later shifted to the district hospital, where they were identified as Sana Ullah and Jamalyan Khan.

Sources said that some other armed suspects present in the area managed to escape. However, efforts were underway to trace them. The Loralai DIG lauded the successful operation of police and ATF and announced a cash award for the personnel who took part in the operation.
