The US embassy in Iraq has issued a new security alert claiming that armed groups have conducted “widespread” attacks on US citizens and targets linked with Washington throughout Iraq, including the Kurdish region in Iraq.
The embassy called on US citizens to leave Iraq and not to go to the embassy in Baghdad or the consulate general in Erbil due to the ongoing risk of missiles, drones and rockets in Iraqi airspace.
