Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said no one can trust US diplomacy after acts of aggression against Tehran during previous negotiations, state broadcaster Press TV reports citing an interview published by India Today.

Baghaei has said that Israeli-US aggression against Iran during indirect negotiations was a “betrayal of diplomacy”, noting that Washington entered negotiations with Tehran twice, and attacked Iran in both instances.

“We made it clear yesterday there is no talks or negotiations between Iran and the US. We’ve had a very catastrophic experience, I should say, of the US diplomacy,” he said.

“We were attacked two times within a span of nine months when we were in the middle of a negotiating process to resolve the nuclear issue. So this was a betrayal of diplomacy,” Baghaei stated.

Baghaei rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington and Tehran have entered ceasefire negotiations.
