Israeli emergency services say at least 12 people have been injured in the centre of the country following a missile launch from Iran, reports AFP.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services said it provided first aid to nine casualties in the city of Bnei Brak, near Tel Aviv, before taking them to hospitals in the area.

It said the wounded included a 23-year-old man in moderate condition with shrapnel injuries to the abdomen and head and “eight in mild condition, including six children.”

Three people were also wounded in nearby Givat Shmuel, the MDA said.

AFPTV footage from Bnei Brak showed heavy damage to buildings, including a balcony that collapsed onto a car, while images published by MDA showed a building where a top-floor apartment had collapsed into the floor below.
