Replying to a question about negotiations with Iran, US President Donald Trump says Washington is negotiating with Tehran.

“We’re in negotiations as it turned out. Now you’ve seen what I said yesterday was exactly correct,” he said.

“We’re in negotiations right now; they’re (Iran) doing it along with Marco, JD. We have a number of people doing it,” Trump added, referring to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance

He further said that Iran wants to make a deal, since “pretty much everything they have is gone”.

Asked why Washington wants a ceasefire after he ruled it out several days ago, Trump said it was because “they’re talking to us and they’re talking sense”, adding that Iran has agreed to never have a nuclear weapon.
