ISLAMABAD: Four federal ministers on Saturday reaffirmed their commitment to work jointly for the establishment of peace and the eradication of terrorism.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with federal ministers representing three political parties — Chaudhry Salik Hussain of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of MQM-P, and Khalid Magsi of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the overall national situation and matters related to internal security.

The prevailing political situation in the country was also discussed. The interior minister briefed the leaders of the three parties on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and informed them about the measures being taken to ensure peace and stability.

The three ministers appreciated the efforts of army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir for establishing peace and announced that their parties stand shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in eliminating terrorism from Pakistan.

They paid tribute to the brave actions of the security forces in maintaining peace and honoured the martyrs who laid down their lives fighting the terrorists.

Separately, Interior Minister Naqvi met the caretaker CM of Gilgit-Baltistan, retired Justice Yar Muhammad Khan.

The minister assured him that additional personnel would be deployed during the elections to ensure security.
