QUETTA/GWADAR: Like other parts of the country, different programmes, seminars and rallies were held in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Thursday to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day in which speakers expressed their solidarity with the people of Kashmir who have been struggling for a long time to liberate Kashmir from India’s illegal occupation.

In a statement expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for their just struggle

He praised resilience of the people of India-occupied Kashmir, noting that they have courageously resisted Indian oppression for more than seven decades.

Mr Bugti said the determination of Kashmiris remains unbroken despite continued coercion and repression by India.

In the provincial capital, a rally, led by provincial Ministers Noor Muhammad Doomar and Bakht Kakar, was also taken out. Participants of the rally marched through various roads and streets of the provincial capital and later the rally terminated in front of the Quetta Press Club.

The participants of the rally carried Pakistan’s and AJK flags and banners inscribed with anti-India slogans and slogans in favour of Kashmir’s freedom.

A function was also held in Quetta Press Club to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Haji Ali Madad Jattak said the government, in coordination with security forces and with the support of the people, will eradicate terrorism from Balochistan and turn the province into a cradle of peace.

He appealed to the masses, especially the youth, to unite and stand with the government of Pakistan against anti-Pakistan elements.

PPP leader Syed Dawood Agha, Director of Youth Affairs Ilyas Shad, Sardar Yahya Khan Nasir, Fazal Muhammad Noorzai and others also attended the event.

He alleged that terrorists, acting on instructions of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attempted to disrupt peace in the province and Kashmir Day programmes, but the youth of the province thwarted their efforts.

Mr Jattak said the Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed in the country to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, adding that hearts of Pakistanis, including the people of Balochistan, beat in unison with Kashmiris.

He praised Balochistan’s youth for actively participating in the Kashmir Solidarity Day events in Quetta and other parts of province.

He expressed the confidence that Kashmir would soon be free and become part of Pakistan

Calling upon the youth to remain united, Mr Jattak said that only collective resolve could defeat hostile elements and their conspiracies.

He expressed the hope that those working on a foreign agenda to destabilise Balochistan would fail.

Seminar in Turbat University

In Gwadar, the University of Turbat (UoT) organised a seminar in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day, where speakers reaffirmed their support for the people of held Kashmir.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Gul Hasan, Director, Public Relations, Ijaz Ahmed, Political Science Lecturer Munir Ahmed, and Director of Student Affairs Chakar Hyder spoke on the occasion.

The seminar was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Kamal Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr Adeel Ahmed, and a large number of students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers highlighted the historical background of the Kashmir issue and urged the international community to resolve the longstanding dispute.

They emphasised that a peaceful resolution must be reached in accordance with United Nations resolutions, respecting the Kashmiri people right to self-determination.

They reiterated the principled stand of the country to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for freedom.
