LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bokhari on Wednesday filed an application with a judicial magistrate seeking permission to record her online statement as complainant in a case of uploading her fake video on social media.
Her counsel, Ali Bukhari, filed the application, as the magistrate had summoned the provincial minister to record her statement on Wednesday.
The application states that appearing before the court in person is not possible due to security concerns and her official engagements as a provincial minister.
It asks the court to allow the minister to record her statement via video link.
Magistrate Naeem Wattoo sought arguments from the defence on the minister’s application at the next hearing on Jan 27.
Earlier, the suspects in judicial custody including PTI social media activist Falak Javed and Shafique were presented before the magistrate.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had registered a case on Azma Bokhari’s complaint regarding the circulation of a fake video.
