DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents caused by dense fog in different areas of Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday evening, Rescue 1122 officials said.

Two motorcyclists lost their lives in separate accidents on Chashma Road due to poor visibility caused by heavy fog.

In another incident near Syed Aalian, a collision between two motorcycles resulted in the death of one person, while another sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, a separate accident near Kot Jai claimed the life of a 20-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Saad, who reportedly lost control of his bike and fell onto the road.

In yet another accident, a rickshaw collided with a sugarcane-laden trolley near Ubhaya Bridge on University Road. As a result, a 20-year-old youth, identified as Mohammad Wazir, died on the spot, while a 16-year-old boy, Amirullah, sustained serious injuries.

Rescue 1122 ambulances reached the scenes promptly, provided first aid to the injured and shifted them to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Both the deceased and the injured belonged to the area near Qureshi Morr.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said dense fog had significantly reduced visibility, leading to the accidents, and urged motorists to exercise caution while travelling in foggy conditions.
