ISLAMABAD: China intends to build 100 hospitals and establish economic zones in Balochistan in order to generate job opportunities and improve water resource management, China’s Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said while talking to senators during a meeting of the Pakistan-China Friendship Group at Parliament House on Tuesday.

Senator Sherry Rehman chaired the meeting.

The ambassador also hinted at introducing more student exchange and technical training programmes to deepen collaboration in the education sector.

Jiang Zaidong said Beijing was keen to boost the “all-weather, time-tested iron-clad friendship between China and Pakistan”.

Senior parliamentarians from across the country and a high-level delegation from China attended the meeting.

The Chinese ambassador appreciated the participation of senators from all regions of Pakistan and expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between the two countries would grow stronger with the passage of time.
