DADU, May 28: A trailer loaded with 1,400 bags of sugar was hijacked by seven armed men at Nai Baran near Kotri town on Sunday. The trailer was heading to Sialkot from Karachi and when it reached near Nai Baran, seven armed men snatched the vehicle and escaped.

The Kotri police on the complaint of trailer driver, Syed Karim, lodged an FIR against the armed men.

BREACH: Irrigation officials plugged a 40 feet wide breach, which developed in the Rice canal on Sunday morning, after 12 hours, hectic efforts.

UC Radhan naib nazim Sabir Hussain said that the breach occurred due to negligence of irrigation officials at RD-405 on Saturday. He said that the breach inundated 800 acres of land, five fish farms, Rustam Bhand, Bhoora Ja Bhan, Siddique Machhi villages. The breach also damaged two kilometres link road of Bodeh-Radhan.

ELECTROCUTED: A woman Farida Mangi, 30, was electrocuted in Mazdoorabad Mohalla, Dadu, on Sunday.
