High flooding may occur in the River Tawi, according to Punjab PDMA DG Irfan Kathia.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Kathia said: “An alert was issued by the Indian High Commission and a high flood may occur in the River Tawi.”

River Chenab’s flow has increased by sixty thousand cusecs in one hour, he added.

Heavy rains are lashing in India-held Jammu’s Tawi, and heavy showers are also happening in northern Punjab, he said, adding that the water flow will increase.
