Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received a phone call from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who expressed his condolences for the floods ravaging different parts of the country.

“He (Pezeshkian) extended his deepest condolences for the devastating floods in different parts of Pakistan, offering Iran’s support to the affected families,” the PM wrote on X. “I’m deeply touched by this gesture of solidarity from our Iranian brothers and sisters, in this hour of pain and suffering.”

The PM added that he and the Iranian president look forward to their meeting at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin, China.
