LAHORE: Two more suspected robbers were allegedly killed in encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) late on Thursday.

As per the initial police reports, a team of the CCD was taking suspects Hafeez and Moon for the recovery of snatched goods in the jurisdiction of Factory Area police.

As they reached Walton Road, some armed men, probably the accomplices of the suspects, opened fire on the police. The police returned the fire which led to an encounter, a police official said adding that as the guns went silent they found Hafeez and Moon killed ‘by the firing of their accomplices’.

He said the police seized bodies and shifted them to the city morgue for postmortem. A case was lodged against the armed attackers and another team of the CCD was dispatched to track down and arrest them.
