LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz appreciated the role of the UK in the recent Pakistan-India conflict during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott on Tuesday.

The two discussed matters related to bilateral cooperation, education, investment and environmental protection. The CM offered to enhance mutual cooperation in education, trade, investment, climate protection and governance.

On the occasion, a luncheon was also hosted in honour of outgoing political adviser to the British High Commission, Zoe Ware.

She appreciated Ware’s role in global environmental projects like the ‘Earthshot Prize’.

“The Punjab government holds in high esteem Jane Marriott’s diplomatic services as the British High Commissioner. Her global diplomatic experience elevated Pakistan-UK relations to a new height,” she said.

Meanwhile, the CM congratulated Army Chief Gen Asim Munir on his promotion to the rank of Field Marshal.

“I pray that under the leadership of General Munir, the Pakistan Army reaches new heights of professional excellence and capability,” she said.
