The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Mora) has confirmed that Haj flights will now depart for Saudi Arabia as per the scheduled plan, following a cessation of hostilities between Pakistan and India, PTV News reports.

The statement by the Mora spokesperson comes after the complete restoration of Pakistan’s airspace for all types of flights.

It revealed that due to intermittent suspension of flight operations, a total of 10 Haj flights had been cancelled earlier. These included three from Lahore, two from Islamabad, and one each from Karachi and Multan. As a result, the travel schedule of 2,290 pilgrims had been disrupted.

The ministry spokesperson further stated that 1,277 affected pilgrims have already been sent to Saudi Arabia via special flights, and the remaining 1,013 will also be flown out soon through additional special flights.

To date, 19,669 Pakistani pilgrims have successfully reached Saudi Arabia. The spokesperson advised all pilgrims to remain in contact with their respective Haj camps for updated flight information.
