RAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Monday said that Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) was playing a positive role in poverty alleviation in Pakistan.

This is a social welfare institution whose employees performed their duties in difficult circumstances with hard work, dedication and responsibility.

He expressed these views while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected presidents and cabinet of the All Pakistan BISP Employees Welfare Association and Officers Association.

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected presidents and cabinet of the All Pakistan BISP Employees Welfare Association and BISP Officers Association organised by the Benazir Income Support Program was held at the BISP head office.

The governor attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid presided over the oath-taking ceremony. Mr. Haider congratulated the newly elected members on winning the elections through a democratic process.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that BISP is playing a positive role in poverty alleviation in Pakistan. After assuming the office, Senator Rubina Khalid as Chairperson, the institution has successfully embarked on a journey of development.
