TOBA TEK SINGH: Security agencies detained 35 Afghan nationals from Pathan Colony in Jhang on Friday as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal foreign residents.

Sources said 96 Afghan citizens had been living in the area without legal documentation, of whom only 10 returned to Afghanistan voluntarily. The arrested people, including women and children, will be deported through the assistance of UN officials.

CHINIOT: Authorities reported that 249 illegal Afghan residents have voluntarily left the district for Afghanistan, making Chiniot the first district in the province to successfully repatriate a large number of illegal foreigners.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Safiullah Gondal and District Police Officer Abdullah Ahmad chaired an implementation committee meeting where the DC directed departments to launch a door-to-door survey to identify any remaining undocumented residents.

He said the standard operating procedures issued by the Punjab Home Department should be followed strictly at the district level.
