LAHORE/GUJRAT: Policewoman SP Ayesha Butt has been selected by the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) for its global ‘Excellence in Performance Award 2025’.

A spokesperson for the Punjab police said Aisha Butt will receive the award at the 62nd annual training conference to be held in September this year in Glasgow, Scotland. She is presently serving as the Gujranwala as City Traffic Officer (CTO).

The Punjab police department welcomed it as a `source of pride’ for the country.

The international organisation with over 70 countries and 30 affiliate organisations as its members, the IAWP’s mission is to strengthen, unite and raise the capacity of women in policing.

“I am writing to inform you that you are selected to receive the 2025 International Association of Women Police Excellence in Performance Award,” reads a letter issued by Julia Jaeger, the IAWA president.

“The IAWP is proud to honor your distinguished service and commitment to policing. On behalf of our members, the Board of Directors and the Recognition Committee, congratulations on receiving the highly competitive global recognition,” she added.

Inspector General Punjab Dr Usman Anwar congratulated SP Ayesha Butt for bringing a good name to the department and the country as well.
