DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least 13 people were killed and several others injured in clashes, firing incidents and traffic accidents in different areas of Balochistan during Eid holidays, officials said on Wednesday.

The worst fighting was reported from Nasirabad. The gun battle between the Bugti and Jaat tribes occurred over a piece of land in the Phleji Bara Jaat area. Three tribesmen, including a man and his son, were killed while two others sustained critical injuries.

Police rushed to the scene of the clash and shifted the casualties to Teaching Hospital Dera Murad Jamali before they were referred to Larkana for further treatment. The bodies were handed over to heirs after completing medico-legal formalities.

In another episode, two people identified as Panhal Khan Mughari and Bilawal Khan Mughari were killed in a clash between two factions of the Mughari tribe in Jhal Magsi’s Mirpur area over an old enmity. The rivals used automatic weapons against each other.

An unidentified gunman opened fire in the Gandawah area, killing Altaf Lashari.

Police and Levies personnel were investigating these clashes, but no arrest was reported.

A collision between a car and a motorcycle on the National Highway near the Winder area claimed three lives and left two others injured. The deceased were identified as Dr Ghulam Sarwar Domki, his son, and one Beshak Bemari. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In another accident in Bolan’s Bibi Nani area, two motorcyclists Sher Ahmed and Habibullah lost their lives when their motorbike collided with a vehicle.

In the Hassanabad area of Sherani district, a motorcycle crashed into a car, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge into a ravine. The accident resulted in the death of Umar and left three others seriously injured. The injured were shifted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Quetta witnessed violence when two individuals, Kifayatullah and Tayyab, were injured in a shooting incident in the Marriabad Dam area.

In Sibi, a confrontation between Levies personnel and armed robbers led to an exchange of fire. The robbers attempted to snatch a motorcycle, prompting the Levies officers to intervene. In the ensuing gunfight, two Levies officers were wounded, while the attackers fled, abandoning their motorcycle.

A manhunt is underway to apprehend the culprits.
