LARKANA: A man was killed and another was wounded when they were attacked by a group of armed men believed to be their rivals in Masti Khan Chandio village in the jurisdiction of Mahota police station on Eid day.

Hujjdar Chandio, 35, and Suhaib Chandio came under attack when they were going to graveyard after offering Eid prayers, sources said. Hujjdar who died on the spot and the injured were shifted to Trauma Centre in Chandka Medical College Hospital while the attackers escaped the scene.

The body was handed over to relatives after completion of medico-legal formalities.

Waheed Chandio, brother of the victim, registered an FIR with Mahota police station against Sarfaraz Chandio, Rafique Chandio and four others.

He demanded IGP, DIG and SSP Larkana order police to immediately arrest the assailants.

Robbers kill biker

A gang of armed highwaymen intercepted a motorcycle at Falh Mori in the jurisdiction of Wagan police station on Tuesday and fired at the bike driver and his relative when he resisted their attempt to rob him of his motorcycle.

The dacoits took away the two-wheeler and looted cash after having injured Abdul Sattar Totani and his relative Ghulam Rasool cash.

The injured were transported to Trauma Centre at CMCH where Abdul Sattar could not survive while the condition of Ghulam Rasool was stated to be critical.

Relatives of the bereaved family demonstrated at SSP Chowk along with the body in the ambulance and called for immediate arrest of the killers. The protesters blocked the vehicular traffic and raised slogans against police.

Later, police officers concerned talked to the protestors and persuaded them to end the protest on assurance the killers would be arrested soon.

In another incident on Monday, a gang of robbers deprived Irfan Ali Chandio, a court employee, of his motorcycle on Qambar road in the jurisdiction of Sachal police station.

The robbers snatched the motorcycle from Abdul Jabbar Siyal, a shopkeeper on Station Road, and fled away.
