MOHMAND: Provincial minister for public health and engineering Pakhtoonyar Khan has said over Rs1 billion will be spent on construction of 170 tube wells in the Mohmand district.

Addressing a ceremony at the Ghalanai Jirga Hall here on Monday, he said over Rs450 million would be spent on beautification of the three main bazaars.

“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will provide Rs10,000 each to deserving people as the Ramazan package,” he added.

MNA Sajid Khan Mohmand, MPA Mehboob Sher Khan, deputy commissioner Mohammad Yasir Hassan, Lower Mohmand tehsil chairman Malik Naveed Ahmed Mohmand, officers of government departments and a large number of PTI workers were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, MNA Sajid Khan said Mohmand was a backward area and the problems there were manifold, and asked the provincial government to approve a special development package for the district.

He said that the people of Mohmand had expressed their trust in Imran Khan, the PTI founding chairman, for the second time and were standing firmly with him.
