DADU: Five occupants of a car died and six others riding a sports utility vehicle coming from wrong side of Indus Highway sustained injuries when the SUV rammed into the car near Solangi More close to Sann town on Friday.

All the occupants of the car identified as Khawaja Nadeem, his brother Khawaja Ali Kazim, Syed Jan Ali Shah, Zain Turabi, all residents of Karachi, and Abdul Ghani Mangrio of Rohri, died instantly and their bodies were moved to Manjhand taluka hospital.

The injured identified as Bilal Niazi, Ahsan Niazi, Majid Niazi, Mohammad Ishaq Niazi, Aziz Bhatti and Muhammad Zeeshan were travelling in the Fortuner vehicle, which was driving on the wrong side of the road and caused the accident, said eyewitnesses.

They were also taken to Manjhand taluka hospital and were later shifted to Hyderabad for further treatment.

Jamshoro SSP Mohammad Sadiq Chhanga that the car was going from Sehwan Sharif towards Hyderabad, while the Fortuner was coming from the opposite direction, which led to the deadly collision.

Police had impounded the vehicles for investigation.
