LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved four development schemes amounting to Rs24.918 billion.

The schemes were approved at the 62nd meeting of the current fiscal year, presided over by P&D Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan.

The schemes include construction of a dual carriageway from GT Road (Benazir Chowk) to Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (Wahndo Interchange), Length = 15.2km, Gujranwala district, at a cost of Rs9.97bn; reconstruction/rehabilitation of GT Road from Quaid-i-Azam Interchange (Lahore Ring Road) to Wagah Border, Lahore District, at a cost of Rs5.6bn; construction of a flyover at Nadirabad Phattak to Industrial Estate, Multan, at a cost of Rs5.376bn; and revamping Bansra Gali Zoological Garden, Murree, at a cost of Rs3.97bn.

The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, P&D Board members and other senior officers.
