CHITRAL: Life returned to normal in Chitral on Tuesday after continuous snowfall of four days as government and private offices as well as commercial centres were re-opened.

Garam Chashma and Madak Lasht roads in Lower Chitral and Upper Terich, Rech, Khot, Melp and Broghil in Upper Chitral are still closed to vehicular traffic.

The number of passengers going to Peshawar and Rawalpindi from Chitral has largely increased after improvement of the weather which the people were waiting for as hundreds of vehicles left bus stands of the city on Tuesday morning.

The transmission lines of electricity from national grid were restored to villages in Lower Chitral including Mroi, Barenis, Prayeet, Mori and Koghuzi that were disconnected during the continuous snowfall.

Meanwhile, towers of different mobile phone companies were being restored in a number of localities in Lower Chitral while in Upper Chitral, many poles were said to be still inaccessible due to height of snow column.
