QUETTA: A man suffered serious burns due to gas explosion in his house in Arif Road area of the provincial capital on Tuesday.

Police said the explosion in the house was caused by gas leakage, leaving the man injured and damaging a big portion of the house.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said freezing temperature of minus 6 degrees Celsius in Quetta has caused regulators (controllers) installed on the 18-inch diametre HCP pipeline at Quetta headquarters to freeze, disrupting gas supply to different areas.

Technical teams of SSGC have been working since 6am to fix the issue which affected supplies to areas including parts of Quetta such as Nawan Kali and its adjoining localities, as well as upper Balochistan areas including Pishin, Kuchlak, Bostan, and Ziarat.
