Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election, AFP reports.
“My congratulations to President Donald Trump on his electoral victory and return to the presidency of the United States,” Lula wrote on his X account.
“Democracy is the voice of the people and must always be respected,” he added.
“The world needs dialogue and joint work for more peace, development and prosperity,” said the leftist Brazilian president, who also wished “luck and success” to Republican Trump in his future administration.
