LAHORE: A young man allegedly kidnapped from Faisal Town a day back was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Ichhra police precincts.

Initial police reports suggested that Farhan, 18, died after falling from the rooftop of flats.

The police were investigating whether he fell down from the building accidentally or was pushed by someone in a bid to kill him.

A police official said the boy had gone missing on Monday and his parents suspected that he might have been kidnapped by someone.

As the matter came to the police, he said, a team managed to recover the car of the young man and the circumstantial evidence suggested that he may have allegedly been kidnapped.

As the police started investigations, some locals alerted them that a youth had fallen from the rooftop of a private flat in Ichhra. The police team rushed to the site and identified him as Farhan, the official said adding they later informed his parents about the incident.

A team was trying to get help from the safe city and private cameras to trace the case. The police shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy.

Iqbal, 40, breathed his last at a hospital while the condition of one of the other injured persons was stated to be serious. The injured included Ghulam Mustafa, Aqib and Muhammad Ahmad.

A police official said the incident took place when some neighbours exchanged hot words with each other over some issue and then both sides returned with weapons.

He said there were conflicting reports about the crossfire between the two sides. He said the armed men fled the scene soon after the incident and police were conducting raids for their arrests.
