LAHORE, March 25: Pakistan Football Federation (FF) has recalled midfielder Adeel Ahmed for the national side which will take part in inaugural edition of AFC Challenge Cup 2006 next month in Bangladesh.

Nowshehra-born Adeel, the SAF Games gold medalist in 2004, was one of the midfielders along with Zahid Hameed, Farooq Shah, Abdul Aziz, Mudassar Saeed and Imran Niazi in 6th SAFF Championship 2005.

He was dropped from Pakistan’s 27-player squad announced for Asian Cup Qualifiers against Jordan (22 Feb, Amman) and UAE (1 March, Karachi) this year.

Adeel also helped PTCL in winning First National Football Challenge Cup last year at Rawalpindi by finishing leading scorer.—PPI
