Israeli air raids have been carried out across the Gaza Strip overnight and into the early hours of the morning, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports from Deir el-Balah, Gaza.

People are still trapped under the rubble of targeted homes and public facilities, according to paramedics and civil defence crew. It is likely to take hours, days, and in some cases months to remove them.

In Rafah city, the Israeli military continues with severe artillery shelling and the use of quadcopters to chase people from areas they are trapped in. In Rafah alone, we’re looking at at least 20 people killed inside their homes or when they were trying to flee within the past 24 hours.

In the northern part of Gaza, there are more reports of aerial attacks and artillery shelling, the usual morning routine for the Israeli military.
