ISLAMABAD: Cable worth millions of rupees,which is used in modular operation theatres (MOTs), has been stolen from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

A private company that was working on MOTs has contacted the Karachi Company police station, alleging that the thieves tampered with the CCTV footage to make it difficult to identify them.

Pims spokesperson Dr Aneeza Jalil said although the cable was the property of a private company, but since it was stolen from the limits of Pims, the hospital management decided to hold an internal inquiry.

According to the first information report, electric cable was being used in the MOT project installation which was in its final phase. The cable was stored in the transformer room.

Complainant Mehmood Ahmed, said the cable was stolen from the transformer room, due to which security and electric departments were informed.
